Time table:   End of Žiarska dolina – Žiarska chata 1 1/4 h – Jalovecké sedlo 1 1/2 h - Baníkov 1 h - Hrubá kopa 1 h - Smutné sedlo 1 h - Žiarska chata 1 h -  end of Žiarska dolina 1 h
Basic route: The initial part of the tour up to the Žiarska chata cottage (1 300 m) coincides with the preceding tour "The Plačlivé Mt." After a moderate ascent to the cottage continue by the house of the Mountain Rescue Service to the road post where you turn onto the gree-marked path (5610) in the direction of the Jalovecké sedlo saddle. The path passes by the Memorial to the victims of the mountain accidents in the Západné Tatry Mts. . It traverses the southern slope as far as the brook. Now you ascend on its right side and pass under the Šarafiov vodopád waterfall across the brook ascending to the following trough. The winding path ascends in the dwarf pine forest into the wide Jalovecké sedlo saddle (1 858 m). Leaving the saddle continue to the right on grassy and rocky crest to Prislop (2 142 m). Descend to the saddle walking on the steep rock crest. You will have to avoid a part of the indented crest by turning left and then ascend the southern rock top rib as far as to the Baníkov (2 178 m), the tallest peak in the main ridge of the Západné Tatry Mts. Now  you will have to pass the most difficult part of the ridge. Continue eastward following the red marks (0862). Chains secure exposed terrain. Descend to easier terrain around a rock needle passing through an incision between the rocks likewise secured by chains. Beyond the grassy saddle is the stretch leading to the second tallest peak of our trip: Hrubá kopa Mt. (2 166 m). Have a little rest and then descend to the saddle. Continue passing the exposed Tri kopy Mt. (2 136 m) equipped with artificial climbing aids. This demanding pass is recommended only in good weather. Debris path will carry you further to the Smutné sedlo saddle (1 963 m). Leaving the saddle behind continue to the right on the blue-marked path (2707), incised deep into a very steep slope as far as the protuberance of the Prostredný grúň Mt. Continue on the undulated crest to a shallow little saddle and then to the left on a short switchback down to the valley. Paved path running across a little terrace will carry you to the crossroads of the Žiarske sedlo saddle and then you will find yourself on a familiar track witch leads to the Žiarska chata cottage (3/4 of an hour). Comfortable sescent down the Žiarska dolina valley ends the trip at the bus stop immediately below the end of the Žiarska dolina valley.
