The settlement consists of wooden houses with farmyards. The many small wooden houses are painted in pastel colours, with their roofs being covered with shingles. Many of them are still inhabited. Here visitors have the possibility to become acquainted with the lifestyle of its 19th and 20th century inhabitants in an exhibition called " the peasants house." In the centre of the village stands a wooden belfry. The village's character is completed with a Roman Catholic church of the visitation of the virgin Mary. This site of folk architecture is recorded in the records of the world's cultural and national heritage fund of UNESCO.
