Poor visibility often complicates orientation. It is not recommended to abanon the hiking trail, as the rocky relief is deceptive and unpredictable.
Basic route: Start at the cottage at Lúčky (925 m) on slightly ascending field road, which runs on the right side of wide meadow with shrubs and trees. Folow the green hiking marks (5426). The road with stony surface ascends to the forest where there are several sinkholes on the left side. At the Pod Krčahovom crossroads (1,040 m) turn left onto the red hiking trail (0861). After about 100 metres there is turning left to the partisan bunkers in the valley of Krčahovo. If you want to see them, you have to count on about 1 hour of additional time. The red marked-trail leads on the forested slope and the path is in places hardly discernible as it advances to the alpine meadow of Podroh with an arbour. Continue ascending on a meadow to the dolina Podroh valley (1,175 m). There are switchbacks at the head of the calley which lead to the saddle of Javorie (1,487 m) in the side ridge between the Tanečnica and the Krakova hoľa Mt. Turn left at the saddle onto the yellow-marked trail (8620). The steep path ascends to the southern ridge of the Krakova hoľa and enters the dwarf pine forest. Then you will arrive at high situated grassy karstic plateau of Kosienka on the southern slope of the Krakova hoľa Mt. The blue-marked trail (2709) joins it from the right. The hikers use it to ascend from the Poludnica Mt. and Iľanovská dolina valley. The proper top of the Krakova hoľa Mt. (1,752 m) is accessible by the path, which turns right of the main yellow and blue marked path. There is a wonderful panoramic view from the top cliff of the mountain. After returning back to the crossroads continue to the right on the path, which descens down the north-western ridge. At the saddle of Machnaté sedlo (1,450 m) your trail joins the trail of the tour "Pusté" though in the opposite direction. Descend over the Pusté Mt. (1,501 m) to the Demänovská dolina valley following the blue hiking marks. The trip ends at the parking lot below the entrance to the Demänovská jaskyňa slobody cave (860 m). You can see this cave, in fact one of the most beautiful Slovak caves, if you have some time left.
Options: You can return from the top of the Krakova hoľa Mt. to the alpine meadow of Kosienky and continue to tle left on the blue path across the saddle of Pod Kúpeľom and Poludnica to the village of Iľanovo (total 7 ¼hours).
