Monuments in Liptovský Hrádok
In spite of its largeness Liptovský Hrádok has lots of historic monuments. Some are remark by time, even though they can speak about our ancestry and about important events.
Organ was made by Andrej Pažitný in year 1799. It is on protected monuments list.
27. january 1945 Štefan Orfánus from Liptovský Peter at entertainment with german fascist soldiers, find out what they want destroy. Besides of military and other objects they wanted to destroy also ironbeton bridge above river Belá. At the second day Štefan Orfánus inform guerilla detachment Vysoké Tatry.
Sculpture was originaly in castle areal. In may 1934 was renovate. In the same year was strong flood, which destroy sculpture more than was before renovation. The sculpture has not still renovate it. These days is next to Roman Catholic church in Liptovský Hrádok.
Right next castle on stand out rock from picturesque lake stands unreached capel, in which is sculpture of St. John the Baptist. The capel was built in 18. or at the beging of 19. century. Author of capel has not known.
Partisans decide baffle germans plan. They needed to interrupt electric lines, wich reach to the explosive under the bridbge. Here was hard shooting where died 11 partisans to save the bridge.
Building was built in 17 century like economic building which belong to mansion, which was built next to castle. Only old brewer chimney showed fame, that here was made beer for mastership. At the garden was many spacious buildings and large barn . Haláš, which was used for carman on way from Liptov to Spiš.
Though several versions of a story narrating the origin of the castle exist, one thing is certain: The first reference to the castle is from 1341 as novum castrum. The castle, made of stone, was built by the head of the Zvolen province, Donč, at the beginning of the 14th century when the land of several squires was confiscated beforehand.
Memorial was built for honour of Belánská valley inhabitants, whose were killed in 1. and 2. World War. Construction of airport and military objects next to Liptovský Peter was important at memorial construction . Memorial was made by schulptor L. Pollák and was showed at 29. June 1944.
