Basic route: The whole route follows that of the instructive path Demänovská dolina with 12 information panels. Start at the parking lot in front of the Grand hotel east of the Vrbické pleso lake (1 102 m). Go round the mountain lake walking on its north-western bank as far as the Mikulášska chata cottage. Proceeding below the Otupný Mt. yellow path (8619) joins the instructive path. Ascend up the Zadná voda valley along the brook to the Tri vody crossroads (1 370 m). Turn left onto the red mark (0855). Continue on the path, which traverses the northern slope of the main ridge of the Nízke Tatry Mts. in the head of the Demänovská dolina valley. The path moderately ascends in the forested northern slope of the Dereše Mt. as far as the Brhliská (1 430 m), and the funicular. Cross the ski track and when you arrive at the Pod Orlou sklalou crossroads (1 460 m) the path starts to ascend. Its switchbacks run in dwarf pine growth towards the slope of the Chopok Mt. Beyond the last switchback starts the oblique traverse ending at the station of chair lift, now out of use, from the Otupný Mt. to Luková (1 675 m) and functioning chair lift from Jasná to Luková. From now on the route mostly descends. The first section of the descend leads on the slope to the station of the chair lift (1 500 m) connecting Záhradky and Konský grúň. Continue descending on the edge of the dwarf pine forest as far as Pekná vyhliadka (1 360 m). The profile of the tour changes. The path turns right and traverses the slope as far as the Široká dolina crossroads (1 390 m). The instructive path joins here the green-marked (5426) hiking trail. Yours will be the green-marked trail (5426) and it will take you along the Demänovka river down the Široká dolina valley as far as the Pod Krčahovom crossroads (1 040 m). The trip ends next to the cottage at Lúčky (925 m).
Options: The descent to Jasná can be made shorter if you chose blue-marked trail at the crossroads of Pod Orlou sklou (total 6 ½ hours). You can also leave the route at the station of chair lift and have a ride down to Záhradky. The basic route can be also walked in opposite direction (total 4 ½ hours).
